Happy to come back home this morning. Evacuated yesterday as bushfires raged at 100kms an hour, only 500 metres from my farm. Just before I had to leave, a new calf arrived. OMG the poor thing was so shaky and his mum was frantic. I decided I would call h...

Enjoying Each and Every Moment of Life

In the rush of 21st century living and working, does it seem like every moment of your day is eaten up with housework or yard work, your job or business? Many people think that you can only take a break and enjoy the simple things in life on weekends or at holiday time. No doubt you've heard friends or work colleagues sigh on a Monday and exclaim they wish it was Friday. I'm suggesting you start looking for little things to make your time at work pleasant and fun.

Change Your Thinking and You'll Change Your Life

Have you ever sat and wondered why some people seem to turn everything they touch to gold, and others struggle year after year just to make ends meet?

Are they smarter? Plug them into any aptitude test and the answer is no.
Do they work harder? No way! They take time off for holidays with their family and to pursue their own interests.
Are they more educated? For starters, formal education in no way guarantees success. Richard Branson has dyslexia and had poor academic performances as a student.

You want to know the difference? They think BIGGER! That's it. Seems way too simple doesn't it, but it's a fact. It's not the size of one's brain that determines success ... it's the size of one's thinking.

My next burning question is that if it's that simple, why doesn't everyone think bigger? Through deep examination of my own beliefs and observing many friends, work colleagues and business associates I've learned we are influenced by the environment in which we spend the majority of our time.

Have you ever watched one crab attempt to leave the herd (or whatever a bunch of crabs is called), and climb out of a bucket? The others reach up and drag him back .... back to their level. That's how it is if you spend the majority of your time with people who think small. They are constantly trying to pull you down to their level of thinking. You'll be told "it's just not worth the effort", "you have no control over your destiny", "there's only so much room at the top". Try telling that to Mr Branson.

There are limitless spaces just waiting for people who dare to think big. People just like you. The purpose of the herd is to keep you in the herd. Kick up your heels and break free. You have enough energy within you to light up a small city. Use it to lift your mind to a new level and live the life you desire and deserve.

This is the power and magic of thinking big.

Waiting for Ideal Conditions is Rarely an Option

Is there something you have wanted to be, do or have for a long time? Are you living the life you really love and feeling that deep satisfaction of knowing you're on purpose, or are you putting off making that change because of your circumstances?

I'm familiar with that feeling of thinking that everything has to be in place before making a major life-change but here's what I know to be true ... an inspired thought acted upon will always produce the right circumstances.

I made the decision in September 2008 that I wanted to move back to the country ... Albury in particular (or closeby). Living in a large capital city was not fulfilling my purpose. Even though I had a great job that I enjoyed and I earned very good money, the restlessness would not leave me - it was time to move back to the environment I thrive in.

On May 29 2009, I found my home on the internet and within 5 days, it was mine. Throughout those entire 5 days, I saw myself living in that house; I saw my furniture placed in each room. One very powerful thing I did was to share my vision with people who support and encourage my dreams and goals.

I moved to my new home physically on June 29 but in my mind, I lived there since that first sighting on May 29. THAT is the power of the subconscious mind. It will deliver exactly what it is instructed to deliver, regardless of circumstances or outside appearances. The key is, to take action on your inspired thoughts and trust that all you require will come to you. We are never given an idea or dream without the resources to bring it to fruition.

How powerful do you want to be?

Embrace the freedom to live life on your terms. See it - believe it - expect it!

The Upside of being Downsized

Is your Company telling you that your services are no longer needed? Maybe you're scouring the pages of Google right now looking for another job. What if you turned your situation around and believed that this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for? It mightn’t look like it now, but given time, you may see that being downsized is the best thing to have ever happened to you.

The biggest industry in the world right now is the home based business industry. And it will continue to grow. 79 million people in the U.S. alone will start their own homebased business in the next 5 years according to Forbes magazine. If you do a search on Google, you will see many pages dedicated to the world of home based business.

Bear in mind, there is a difference between work from home and work at home. If you really do want the freedom to work to your own schedule, you will want to avoid the home based businesses that require you to attend hotel meetings, drive for endless hours across the countryside or draw business plans on napkins in a coffee shop.

There are a wide range of home based businesses that you can operate with a laptop and a cellphone. If you love the flexibility of working from any location, this type of business could be just the ticket.

Have a clear idea of what you're looking for in a business and make a list. Stick to your list as you start your search and don't be persuaded by the false promises and overblown hype that you definitely will come across out there on the internet. In other words, do your due diligence. It will pay off big-time in the long run.

Here are some questions to think about:

How long has the company been in business? Longevity is important. Beware of "pre-launch" and new start-ups.

Is the product something you strongly believe in? Your belief level is your "Attractor Factor”.

Do you have to stock inventory? Who wants a garage full of products?

Will you have to make a list of family and friends? The alarm bells should go off with this one.

Is the system easy to follow and duplicate? You want to be up and running in 1 or 2 days, not 1 or 2 months or years.

What level of training and support is available? Masterminding with leaders will expand your thinking.

What percentage of the profits is yours to keep? Sharing your profits with an upline (i.e. MLM) is not the fast track to financial success.

A final word of advice based on my own personal experience. When you've made the decision on the opportunity that is right for you, don't look back. Dive in and get into action immediately. There will be a learning curve as you master the skills required but if you're consistent and persistent your efforts will be richly rewarded.

Inspiration from a 30 tonne Caterpillar

You wouldn't think that watching earthmoving equipment would spark so many ideas. There was a construction site a short walk from where I used to live. Throughout the day, when I felt like taking a break, I'd wander over to see what was going on. Crazy as it sounds, I found it therapeutic to watch these large machines breaking up huge slabs of concrete and rearranging enormous amounts of soil.

Anyway, you’ve probably heard of GIGO - Garbage In Garbage Out. It usually refers to the fact that if you put non-sensical data into a computer, it will give you equally non-sensical output. In the area of personal development, GIGO has also been used to describe what happens if you feed your mind with garbage.

Getting back to my construction site. There was a machine that had a big hopper at one end and a conveyor belt at the other end. Somewhere in the middle there was a crusher and muncher (that's an earthmoving term ; )). All the garbage, the huge broken bits of concrete and rubble, were piled into the hopper to be crushed and munched however, what rolled off that conveyor belt at the other end was anything but garbage. It all came out as perfectly useful, clean filling to be spread over the ground as a base for the foundations of the brand new apartments that were being built.

As I sat there and watched I just thought, you know what? Our minds are capable of doing this too. No matter what rubbish has gone in over the years, we have the ability to convert any garbage into a solid foundation to build our new reality on.
We really do!

We’ve all had dreams that have been crushed and pummeled and whacked around by others who tell us to “get real”. Why do we allow that to happen? Why do we give the reins of our life to someone who isn’t prepared to get off the couch and make their own life better?

It just doesn’t make sense!

So, even if your dreams might look like a pile of rubble at your feet right now, know this. You can pick them up, dust them off and begin again. Use the power of YOUR mind to create your own reality. A reality that you will be pleased with and joyful in. And isn’t that exactly what you intended your life to be?

Opportunity is All Around You

The people that really succeed in the world
are the people who look for the circumstances they want, and,
if they can't find them, they create them.

The lure of the distant and the difficult is deceptive.
The great opportunity in your life is where you are right now.
Properly perceived, every situation becomes an opportunity for you.

Your destiny is not a matter of chance,
it's a matter of the choices you make.
Being successful is not something you wait for,
but rather something you achieve with effort.
Things won't turn up in this world until you turn them up.

You develop your opportunities by applying
persistence to your possibilities.
